ETHNOMAP (I) data collection task is planned to start on July 13, 2009. Contributors in Africa and North America will directly feed a set of standarized data to the Institute's ETNOMAP Data Portal

Climate variability adds an extra dimension to the equation of regional stability in Horn of Africa. The region is struggling with the management of scarce natural resources, dynamic pastoralist population and climate induced hardships. The Institute in collaboration with CompSci is building a conceptual computational platform to study these complex dynamics.
